Driving toward digital equity in the KC region

The KC Digital Inclusion Fund is a charitable fund led by KC Digital Drive and administered at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation with an Advisory Council that includes Dred Scott, President, Civic Council of Greater Kansas City; CiCi Rojas, President, Tico Productions; Adriana Pecina, Impact Strategist, Health Forward Foundation; Rachel Merlo, Head of Government and Community Affairs (Central + OC, CA), GFiber; and Aaron Deacon, Managing Director, KC Digital Drive. 

 

In 2024, the Fund will award up to $250,000 to 501(c)(3) public charities (including schools and churches) or governmental entities across three grant areas: 1) Devices, 2) I.T. Support, and 3) New Courses. 

Each area has its own request for proposal, schedule, application requirements, and evaluation criteria.

KC Digital Drive provides applicant support through informational events, office hours and 1:1 assistance leading up to each grant cycle; and provides tech support, and evaluation and reporting assistance to all grantees.

Devices 

This cycle focuses on the purchase purchase of computers, tablets or smartphone devices by direct service organizations for distribution to clients or for use in client spaces. 

I.T. Support

This cycle focuses on providing often overlooked wrap around services for I.T. support that helps organizations who provide existing digital access programming to add hands-on tech support and troubleshooting for common wifi/network and device issues. 

New Courses

This cycle focuses on digital up-skilling at the intersection of literacy and educational need. Designed to think beyond digital basics but not intended for advanced skills or computer science training.
